Kheerganga is the hottest of Kasol treks. It’s a 7-8 hour hike to the recent springs located at a height of 2950 mts. or 13,000 ft. After handling the gritty terrain, you’ll reach the recent spring of Kheerganga. Take a dip within the warm water and every one your worries and ailments are going to be washed away!The trek starts from Barshani.
If you’re an expert trekker then certainly you’ll choose it, just start early enough. Total Kheerganga trek distance is 12-13 Kms no matter the route you’re taking .
Trekking routes to Kheerganga:
A hydro power project is under construction here which has affected the sweetness of the place. Hopefully tons of it’ll get restored once the plant is commissioned and a reservoir is made.
1) The route passing through dense forests is slightly longer but offers easy climb and is fitted to beginners and occasional trekkers.
2) Kheerganga isn’t a village but you’ll find makeshift stays and camps here. Since there’s no electricity, some restaurants offer tandoors in dining tents to keep you warm.
Transportation is tough and there’s no electricity. Camps and other establishments work on generators so staying and getting good food are often quite expensive. confirm you book your trek with an experienced operator so you get good service while you’re here. As per recent writ commercial permanent camping structures aren’t allowed here temporarily.
During monsoons, Kheerganga trek does become difficult. Still the trail remains hospitable to experienced trekkers.Best time for the trek is April to November where very best months are April/May and September/October.

There are two courses from Barshaini to Kheerganga Trek: Barshaini is an unassuming community with a taxi stand, a couple of fundamental convenience choices and dhabas .The non-motorized road deviates from here to Tosh just over 2 Kms from Barshaini. A hydropower project is under construction here which has affected the beauty of the area. This route through dense jungles is a bit long but offers easy climbs and is ideal for beginners and occasional hikers.2) The second lane runs through the Nakthan valley and should take a left turn at the Barshaini bridge. This is a short route and a very good route but very steep in places so it is difficult. Kheerganga is not a village but you can find accommodations and camps here. With no electricity, some living quarters offer tandoors in the dining tents to keep you warm.

According to a recent court order permanent permanent camping structures are not permitted here temporarily. Like the other Rudra nag, a few miles before Kheerganga operated as a night camp. The last bus from Barshaini to Bhuntar runs between 2 and 4 pm. Look for a taxi stop or dhaba to find the exact time.
